I have a question about how Google crawls. I have a pagination link on the site. Like this.

www.domeinnaam.com/category?page=2

I suppose that google by crawling is going to click on this link. So far so good. BUT on this page might be a filter. And after clicking on that link the url will be changed in the php script to something like this and this will be shown in the address bulk of the browser:

www.domeinnaam.com/category#/sort=p2c.cat_sort_order/order=ASC/limit=36/page=2

My question is - does Google crawl the generated by the last url page and products on it? Or does it take then only the first page - because page=2 parameter is behind the #?

I really appreciate if someone could explain!

  • Easiest way to find out is to test it. In Google Search Console you can see if paginated URLs are indexed. You can also run a live test to see what happens to Googlebot when they crawl one. Feb 21 at 15:39
