Why to hash passwords ? How can I know that developers will be ethical from our side?and not record my password in plaintext

Firstly my question is different. I am not asking why hashing should be done. Instead, I want to hashknow how if developers record user passwords or what are its benefits ?

I am asking that may be someone used to store plain password for hackinghack their own users emailuser's other accounts ?, especially their emails.

Yea i will not ever do this. But i would like to know what made that every developer to be honest. This idea never came into my mind before someone asked it and from users side how can they ensureCouldn't they are doing such mischief. store their user's passwords in plaintext without the user's knowing?

May be notIs there any way for a programming related but well it has some relation with it.user to detect/prevent this?
