On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

I'm Sathiya Kumar, I would like to become a good moderator in Pro webmasters. I'm nominating myself for this election. I have 596 reputation with 14 bronze medals. I'm an active user of Pro webmasters and i have scored this reputation in 5 months itself.

My objectives as a moderator would include:

  • Maintaining and improving the quality of information on this site so it can be recognized as the top resource for Webmasters
  • Increase activity by welcoming and encouraging participation from new and current members
  • Moderate in a non-obstructive, impartial way for the benefit of the community as a whole
  • Routinely perform moderator duties

My qualifications include:

I've continually striven to provide the best information I can to others, citing resources wherever possible, and offering follow-up information in comments. I often comment on closed questions too.

Upon joining the site, I was ranked #1 in the Reputation Leagues for 16 out of 18 straight weeks (and in the top 5 for the others) from June through October, and one of the top voters as well.

I've edited a fair number of posts, flagging those necessary for moderation, and provided helpful feedback in comments to others. I've studied the Help section, and made references to it when needed.

Please see my Bio for other qualifications...

Thank you for your consideration, and hope to help make this site the best possible resource for Webmasters it can be!

This election is over.
