Transition to new site We're going from a site with thousands of pages (added by inexperienced users using a CMS) to a site with hundreds of pages. Also, the domain is remaining the same, but the DNS will point to a new server/ip/host. How can I do redirects from the old site to the new site on a new server/ip/host? The entire directory structure of the site is changing - next to nothing from the old site will remain. |

Site navigation and SEO best practices No, the books are not saying content above navigation for the user. They seem to indicate that that content should come before navigation in the code, but not in the presentation to the user. I mention that in my explanation but not in my question. I'll update to clarify |

Download Link for Custom File Type @PeterTaylor, Great point, I posted both because I don't know the answer. This particular website is hosted off-site and I don't know a whole lot about it. You're answer was great, and sufficient. I really just need to sound intelligent when I contact the hosting provider. |
