Is it possible to do shipping like this in Magento? Thanks... I'll accept your answer because you seem to know, and I'm sure it would work if I tried it. As it so happens my client has done a direction change with this so I don't need it now; and I don't have time to try it out wither ... still I might need it in the future and it's good it's on Stack Exchange now too in case others are in the same boat. |

Anti aliasing problem stackoverflow.com/questions/8519768/… |

Anti aliasing problem The more I study/experiment with this the stranger it gets. It seems it's a browser/os issue in any case. Anyway, css text-rendering seems to have no effect that I can see on either FF or Ch, but I think maybe text-rendering and font-smoothing may have no effect on windows m/cs. Also I could be wrong but it seems that lately both have been improving with FF initially better, but the reverse being true at the moment. At least when I google it I find a while back the comments were more positive about FF but on my machine now chrome works better .. strange thing is that 49px is good but 48 is not |

Anti aliasing problem I did try that but I don't think text-rendering makes any claims on anti-aliasing, does it. I thought it was mainly to do with kerning and ligatures and geometric precision. developer.mozilla.org/en/CSS/text-rendering. Also I am thinking ( perhaps incorrectly ) that this is to do with the settings on my computer because I would have thought that Google would have the fonts displaying as best as they possibly could on Google Web Fonts |

Products missing from backend after import I see what you meant, but it was actually only a figure of speech, though probably not a very wise one. The products did actually import properly. At the moment we are trying to re-import the products but are experiencing some difficulty, and a bit of confusion too. ( the skus are critical and we haven't gotten to to bottom of why this re-import is not straightforward) |

Magento mails coming from[ftpUsername]@[servername.hostingcompany.com] on behalf of SENDER Thanks. Can you happen to tell me whether Magento uses PHP mail or SMTP authentication, and if SMTP where the server details go ? All I could find was a spot saying 'Windows only' but my server is Linux. |

dns routing MX record Also I think you are saying about copying the current zone-definition and leaving the MX untouched and adjusting the records pertaining to the website. But it seems easier to me to just use the DNS that cpanel gives me when i set up the new hosting account; and then manually change the single MX value to point to the old office server, because MX is the only thing that I need that is non standard ( from what cpanel will setup for me) |

dns routing MX record Sorry, when I said "change the domains nameservers to point to the new hosting account" I was referring to what i think you mean by "DNS-servers which serve the domain" eg ns1.domain.com ns2.domain.com ns3.domain.com. ; and yes I AM changing these, so that everything pertaining to the domain should now point to the new hosting account, including mail.domain.com. Then I would be changing the MX record in the new hosting's zone to point mail back to the original office server where the email resides. |

dns routing MX record Super Users ? I wouldn't have thought so. This is a webmaster question as far as I am concerned, though if anyone wants to move it I wont argue. |

What's the difference between cheap and expensive domain registrars? no worries .... "buy on price" ( in my part of the world anyway) means buy the cheapest, as opposed to the best quality; maybe that term is not international; I thought it was. I have re-edited (the edit) so hopefully it's clear now .... I think the question that the OP raised is a very good one but the industry is convoluted IMO .... hopefully you can see from my cleared up answer that a) i buy on price, b)i still need quality c) some of the cheaper providers strangely give a better service ( which is why i buy on price in the first place) |

What's the difference between cheap and expensive domain registrars? i think us members will have to be more patient in dealing with people ( who like me ) haven't studied the rules as carefully as we should to know exactly how well to write the info .... in this case i assumed ( wrongly it seems ) that you were just causing trouble because i thought i was doing good answering the question - at the time i didn't realise that it needed to be properly laid out ... just my 2c |

What's the difference between cheap and expensive domain registrars? i appreciate all you're comments though i think your initial comments belied your intentions. I feel they would be viewed by a typical newcomer as off-putting and negative because they were so stark. I am a member of several hundred communities and ( yes it does seem that stackexchange is quite different which is wonderful) but most people in the technical area are used to very low quality posts and comments, often high quality info written very badly; my point is that if stackexcange wants to be a source of high quality as it seems ( which i think is awesome ) then ... |
