Should a link validator report 302 redirects as broken links? @SamSaffron - So that's why all the buttons produce an alert that says dev only not implemented yet? :) |

Should a link validator report 302 redirects as broken links? @SamSaffron - I'm making the determination by visiting /review/broken-links. When I clicked the /review button (we don't have much to review, so the rest of the tabs were empty), the site brought me to that page. Just trying to figure this stuff out so it's better when it is announced. |

Should a link validator report 302 redirects as broken links? I'd probably report this to meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/link-validator+bug and keep this discussion public so everyone can benefit (as I said, a 302 seems to be industry standard practice) rather than emailing, but thanks for the advice. |

Is a “back” link on each page really needed? @Jeff - I think you're misunderstanding the suggestion. If people are already competent enough to go back with their browser tools, then why would you add a redundant link? It conveys the impression that the site designer is unaware that all browsers have back buttons, and adds an unnecessary element to the page. If you add it (aware of its redundancy, but questioning the ability of your users to find the most obvious button in your browser), and they use the link, then you might have to add it. Otherwise, don't add it. |
