comment Is it possible to use cloudflare without having them managing my DNS?
How does Incapsula meet the requirements for PCI compliance? I've had to recently handle renewing our own PCI certification at work so I know it's no simple task for any of the parties involved where data handover potentially involves sensitive personal & card details.

comment Posting small parts of books as content on my new site, legal/illegal?
It's a truthful and accurate analysis of the copyright environment we work in at the moment. It's up to the question asker as to whether they heed my advice to err on the side of caution, right before I state that it's a serious offence which carries rather harsh penalties in most civilised countries. comment Pointing two IPs to one domain name
I wish DNS allowed for weighting of all record types, MX records have had it their own way for far too long now.

comment Does rel=“nofollow” link helps in SEO
rel=nofollow is more about clearly stating intent. Given their recent algorithms which further punish linkfarms/backlinks/irrelevant content networks, it's undoubtedly good etiquette to use rel=nofollow where appropriate. When blogging, I always rel=nofollow URLs which I may be linking to but don't consider necessarily reputable or worthy of some 'linkjuice'. It's a case-by-case consideration; sometimes I might be linking to a common or relevant keyword and don't wish to diminish internal links or links to our own sites for the same terms or in the same context / paragraph / page.

comment Does Link Target using “Blank” cause increased bounce rate in analytics report?
Whilst it might not affect bounce rates, it'll affect my desire to revisit the site at a later date. I find sites that force _blank upon its viewers quite offensive; I'll be the judge of whether I want to spawn a new window or tab, not the page's designer. It's even worse when even a middleclick forcibly spawns a new window due to the designer catching the onpress with a JS call.

comment PCI DSS compliance for a VPS using Centos
That's TrustWave's modus operandi ;-) They partner with numerous PSPs, including the one we use at work (Streamline). Fortunately we were already using PayPal through our latest web store so no problems there, easy pass for the lowest level of PCI certification. When I read the PCI DSS documentation for first-party compliance (i.e., self hosted and storing all data), my brain began to ooze out of my ears. It's right and proper for standards to be high, but it's an absolute nightmare if you have little or no prior budget for it.

comment Redirect all access requests to a domain and subdomain(s) except from specific IP address?
Just to qualify, also feel that "do not ask if... there is no actual problem to be solved" isn't relevant because the Q has a technnical scope; also "You should only ask practical, answerable questions based on actual problems that you face" exactly described my situation. I've only just noticed the "avoid if your answer is provided along with the question" - I'm not expecting any replies but I will RTFM next time ;) Again, my apologies if webmasters doesn't have the same attitude towards self-answered Qs (first time webmasters. user, previously I've used stackoverflow for web-related Qs). :)

comment Redirect all access requests to a domain and subdomain(s) except from specific IP address?
My apologies, however I did feel it was relevant as there are other htaccess and mod_rewrite based questions on here and for once I had the answer to a question I'd posed myself earlier.
