It's not an implementation of the facebook like button though, is it?

I can't wait until seo.stackexchange opens! ;)

comment Are there any downsides to starting a domain name with a digit?
Agreed, but this might not always be too much of a problem. Take the 101dalamations.com example from above; likely that most people reading it out would voice it as "one-oh-onedalamations" and most people would correctly understand that as "101...". But, yes, this is an excellent point and the same goes for many other URL weird-isms (the old del.icio.us, hyphens, etc.)

comment What is your favourite javascript lightbox implementation?
I'm not sure that clarification helped! By "custom" do you mean "hand-coded" as opposed to "off-the-shelf product"? Most lightboxes I've used (including the one in my example) are JS implementations, so it doesn't really matter whether the site runs on wordpress or compiled C code.

So few pages have titles that long, that I actually can't find one. Do you have any example?

Daniel's description of the images he's referring to ("backgrounds", "icons") makes them sound very much like decoration, as opposed to content. I think they're right to be in the CSS.

comment Tableless layout table generator
Despite the good answers, this is still a REALLY poor question a) because of the lack of information and confusing wording b) because - depending on what the question actually is - it's unlikely to be of use to anyone else. Can someone with edit permissions tidy it up ASAP, please?

comment Implementing an aggregator and integrating it with WordPress
FeedWordPress looks like it has potential - thanks for the tip. Do you have any experience using it? BTW, we're only aggregating our own content (e.g. messages that we've tweeted, photos we've created and uploaded to flickr) so I don't envisage any problem there.

comment Why should I use a Content Management System?
Well, "Content is searchable. Because it’s in a database, the content can be easily searched." for example. I guess it's more downright misleading than dependent on the host, but the general nature of the list implies they're not really comparing with a hand-rolled solution (which could give all of the pros, for example)

comment Why should I use a Content Management System?
This list appears to be about the pros and cons relative to having a hosting company 'own' your website, or using a publishing platform such as wordpress.com, posterous, or tumblr. From the wording in original question, I'm guessing CJD is asking in terms relative to rolling your own. Also, I take issue with a lot of these, not least "content is searchable because it's in a database". Most 'high-end' search solutions involve indexing content and creating their own data store, so it's irrelevant whether the content is stored in flat files or a database.

comment URLs: Should I use hyphens, underscores or plus symbols?
Unfortunately, this doesn't answer the question (which refers specifically to search engines), although I actually think it's the most useful answer here!

comment URLs: Should I use hyphens, underscores or plus symbols?
Isn't the difference between hyphens and underscores minimal enough that it wouldn't affect your finding of SO pages that are only a few minutes old? I'm sure (although this IS just conjecture) that SO's google juice is good for many other reasons before you get to this one.

comment Font resizing widgets: worth it?
Sorry artlung - I referenced it in my answer below but, you're right, I should have also included a link here. I didn't mean to insult this site (which is absolutely brilliant, just less relevant for usability questions) or your question (which is one of many suffering from this 'problem', as I implied). I'll start a thread on meta to try to deal with this more productively than just complaining in comments :) Cheers.

comment Are there any downsides of including google-analytics on your website?
When did it change from 60% to 80%? That kind of jump makes me sceptical.
