comment How can I find common misspellings for my domain name?
Sadly, this is no longer true, now that we have Hummingbird. Google Keyword Tool has been deprecated. It was replaced with Keyword Planner, a Google AdSense product.

comment Does same domain name, but with multiple extensions (com, org…) help for page rank?
Olivier, I know this was almost two years ago. Nevertheless, I wish to extend my sympathy, about that evil client who did not pay you, particularly since you specialize in distance work and probably have no recourse. Sooner or later, he will suffer reputational distress, with such unethical behavior!

See related (but not duplicate :o) questions, webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/51304/… and webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/50115/… I think you are trying to do geo-targeting, which the three answers below describe quite well.

@huzzah I will try to find something for you about that. I knew someone would ask, if I tossed out a specific numeric value! It is a good and valid inquiry on your part.

Might you be willing to disclose the name of the website? I have an idea, but need to know that piece of information. Just the domain name, not even the ccTLD, if you'd rather not say.

comment What is the feature that imports URL information into Facebook and Google+?
@Michael I am trying to understand your question. Do you want to be able to post content FROM your website IN TO Google+ or Facebook (that's what your question title says), so that you control the particular "rich snippet" for that URL that displays e.g. image, lines of content etc? There is boilerplate for that, if that's what you want. But in your question, you said you want to import IN TO your website. From where, or is that not what you meant?

comment Alexa Sites Linking In
@DidYouKnow Yes, that is what I was referring to in my answer. It is called Enhanced Site Listing. Alexa has three different fee-based or "Pro Packages". Enhanced Site Listing is bundled with each of them, and as mentioned above, shows daily updates.

comment Alternatives to Google Sites for a personal web site?
@Drai Will do. I just found a good blog post from Auttomattic (or Automattic or whatever non-standard spelling they use ;o) owner of Wordpress, that explains the difference, which is consistent with what you stated. Thank you!

Sorry, there is one more alternative, which you might like: Github ! I am uncertain if you need a paid account. I haven't implemented it myself. It can be done through Github pages and with that Jekyll thing, or also in a much more primitive way that Daniel Messier wrote about. I'll get the links, be right back.

comment Alternatives to Google Sites for a personal web site?
Oleg, I just thought of two others. LiveJournal, I tried that too, lisa-eve44.livejournal.com and use the free service. JavaScript is allowed to some extent, much more versatility than Wordpress, and I have not been negatively effected by spam or down-time. DNS pointing your domain might cost a little, not much.

@Oleg2718281828 I just read that post. Note that the victim posted the following as resolution ehsanakhgari.org/blog/2012-04-14/… His account was re-enabled in exactly 24 hours. And when asked why it happened, he responded ehsanakhgari.org/blog/2012-04-14/…

comment Difference betweeen hidden links and blogroll link kept hidden?
I have wondered about this too, for a long time! Partly because of SEO penalty like Matt Cutts said (though he also said it was a concern of the Federal Trade Commission, and the article was dated Aug 2007), but also, what is the purpose of having these private i.e. hidden links like this on the blogroll? Good question! I'm happy you thought of asking it!

comment Photos - do I really need to look for the author and ask his permission when posting them on my site?
What you described in your last paragraph is correct. But it isn't complicated, Flickr gives the details with every image.

comment Image hotlinking providers?
Imgur is a great image hosting site. There are limits for free usage, based on a maximum number of images or bandwidth, but I have been using it for just the sort of thing asked about, and have been very pleased. A paid account costs very little, and does remove quantity/ usage restrictions. Also, Imgur offers image editing with Aviary. It's a new-ish feature.

comment Creating a “presentable”/filtered twitter profile widget
There's the Favorites widget which wasn't available before. That will get you past the 1-3 day time window constraint. You would be limited to only those tweets you starred, but that way you'd have total control over what was displayed on a professional website. Last idea: Try the advanced search and operators when you configure the profile widget: twitter.com/#!/search-advanced
