comment How can I find common misspellings for my domain name?
Sadly, this is no longer true, now that we have Hummingbird. Google Keyword Tool has been deprecated. It was replaced with Keyword Planner, a Google AdSense product.

comment Does same domain name, but with multiple extensions (com, org…) help for page rank?
Olivier, I know this was almost two years ago. Nevertheless, I wish to extend my sympathy, about that evil client who did not pay you, particularly since you specialize in distance work and probably have no recourse. Sooner or later, he will suffer reputational distress, with such unethical behavior!

comment What are the search engine affects of registering the same domain on multiple top level domains?
See related (but not duplicate :o) questions, webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/51304/… and webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/50115/… I think you are trying to do geo-targeting, which the three answers below describe quite well.

comment Huge surge in direct traffic from one particular town
Might you be willing to disclose the name of the website? I have an idea, but need to know that piece of information. Just the domain name, not even the ccTLD, if you'd rather not say.

comment What is the feature that imports URL information into Facebook and Google+?
@Michael I am trying to understand your question. Do you want to be able to post content FROM your website IN TO Google+ or Facebook (that's what your question title says), so that you control the particular "rich snippet" for that URL that displays e.g. image, lines of content etc? There is boilerplate for that, if that's what you want. But in your question, you said you want to import IN TO your website. From where, or is that not what you meant?

comment Alexa Sites Linking In
@DidYouKnow Yes, that is what I was referring to in my answer. It is called Enhanced Site Listing. Alexa has three different fee-based or "Pro Packages". Enhanced Site Listing is bundled with each of them, and as mentioned above, shows daily updates.

@Oleg2718281828 I just read that post. Note that the victim posted the following as resolution ehsanakhgari.org/blog/2012-04-14/… His account was re-enabled in exactly 24 hours. And when asked why it happened, he responded ehsanakhgari.org/blog/2012-04-14/…

comment Difference betweeen hidden links and blogroll link kept hidden?
I have wondered about this too, for a long time! Partly because of SEO penalty like Matt Cutts said (though he also said it was a concern of the Federal Trade Commission, and the article was dated Aug 2007), but also, what is the purpose of having these private i.e. hidden links like this on the blogroll? Good question! I'm happy you thought of asking it!

comment Photos - do I really need to look for the author and ask his permission when posting them on my site?
What you described in your last paragraph is correct. But it isn't complicated, Flickr gives the details with every image.

comment Image hotlinking providers?
Imgur is a great image hosting site. There are limits for free usage, based on a maximum number of images or bandwidth, but I have been using it for just the sort of thing asked about, and have been very pleased. A paid account costs very little, and does remove quantity/ usage restrictions. Also, Imgur offers image editing with Aviary. It's a new-ish feature.

That website, JavaScriptKit, is excellent! It has all sorts of good things. Thank you. (You are everywhere, 609south... well, on SE, at least!)

comment Creating a “presentable”/filtered twitter profile widget
There's the Favorites widget which wasn't available before. That will get you past the 1-3 day time window constraint. You would be limited to only those tweets you starred, but that way you'd have total control over what was displayed on a professional website. Last idea: Try the advanced search and operators when you configure the profile widget: twitter.com/#!/search-advanced

comment Google+ share button
@Peter Taylor Yes, that seems to be the case, "it is merged with the Google+ button". Only other suggestion I might make (sorry, not terribly useful) is to join the Google publisher buttons announcements group groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/google-publisher-buttons and of course the forum google.com/intl/en/+/learnmore/forum and +1 API on Google Code site code.google.com/apis/+1button

comment Source on Wordpress contains mangled Twitter data (hurting SEO?)
I was getting similar behavior with the four digit string of numbers, usually starting with an 8. This would happen even if I weren't posting a URL from my WordPress blog! It stopped in early March, I never found out what was going on. But you weren't the only one @Davey !

The twitter widgets have improved significantly since September 2010. They accomplish most of what you want, or rather there are many more choices now, see twitter.com/about/resources/widgets

comment Google+ share button
@Peter Taylor I think this is what Google released two blog posts about yesterday. I wrote a description of it in response to a slightly different question here webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/18466/… I think this will accomplish what you asked about i.e. using the +1 button to share posts specifically to your Google+ circles.
