I am a programmer. I am a software architect. I am a father.

C# and SQL are my languages of choice. I prefer Stored Procedures, compile time over runtime errors, tight and clean over multifunctional, and finally Coke over Pepsi.

I currently work for Magenic and am doing Windows Phone and Windows 8 development in my spare time.

comment Is Cherokee, Mono, and Linux truly a viable alternative to Windows and IIS for production ASP.NET web sites?
I ended up going to the [SuseGallery][1] and did a quick search for Mono and found [JEOS Mono ASP.net][2] which was already setup for what I wanted. I have just started using for some ASP.net migration trials on Windows with VirtualBox. I just needed to start Apache and set up port forwarding. comment Should I bother supporting IE6?
I agree that customer bases can be misjudged. But, it comes down to choosing to hit 70% of a very large base or a small niche where it will take 95% or better to make a profit. If you need to hit the full market, support IE 6. If you get all 70% of the larger market and need new customers, you are looking at a niche and can add IE 6 support.

I have a current client that has been using APlus.net successfully for a while. They have a pretty neat hybrid that can run your site on both Linux and Windows. They also seem pretty reasonably priced.
