comment Can you make total height for a 3-div-sandwhich equal 100% if top & bottom divs are in pixels?
See this answer on a migrated question. If anyone can provide something similar or if possible better after seeing the correct result, I can accept an answer but atm neither of these is really what I asked about sry.

comment I've built a new website using html5, should I have built in flash instead?
As long as both site versions would load quick and display nicely (which seemed alright to me in your case) I would be asking myself 'would I rather push some users to install a better browser or Flash?' For me, the answer is definitely a better browser.

Well it is still fairly subjective :) but ok, imho with the arrival of canvas and videos in HTML plus the use of JavaScript (which is basically the exact same thing as ActionScript), there's really not much you can't do that Flash can. Flash may compress some things better, that's more up to you though and eventually HTML5 should ideally be more compatible across all users. I think and hope a good HTML5/JS framework will beat the pants off Flash any day now.

Given that your site says you are competing in an HTML5 contest, I'd think you should leave it in HTML5. Totally subjective but IMHO anything helping HTML5 take off is better though I'm a long-time flash developer.

Well again this is close but not quite. See how the lower part of body get's cut off by the footer if you scroll all the way down? This is the same issue I'm having on my closest attempt. Just to reiterate, the main goal is to have the scrollbar exist only for the content's overflow so I need a div that can change size to (100% - [headerHeight + footerHeight])

This is somewhat close, I can make a sticky footer fairly easily though I'm really liking the way they're implementing this on resize =D You could say what I've got is a sticky header and a sticky footer. The main overflow is disabled letting the content div in the middle handle the scrollbar.
