Please answer these questions of mine -
Stackoverflow -
mysql date time indexes not applying for some specific date ranges
How to find the absolute path of a node (file or directory) in this file system model (Interesting question!)
Need help? Have some questions that I may answer?
Is nobody answering your question? If you feel I may be able to answer any of your questions, mail me the link of your question. My mail ID is sandeepan (dot) nits (at) google's mail.
I like trying to answer those questions which are generally skipped by many highly reputated guys here lol. Sometimes they skip them because they don't have time to read long questions. I like attempting such questions and I think that could be my trick to earn reputation.
I am also active in many SE sites like programmers.SE, gaming.SE, onstartups.SE, etc. Send me questions!!
About me
I am a Software Developer/Designer from India. Here is my Brief Résumé on Stackoverflow Careers. Contact me at sandeepan (dot) nits (at) google's mail.
Other than programming I have deep interests in Human Psychology, Entrepreneurship, Social work and Scientific Research. While younger I had deep interests in Genetics, Astronomy etc.
I love computer games, especially FPS games on multi-player, cricket, music, racing and adventure.
I am a 24 years old guy and as time is passing by, I am gradually coming to realize that there are so many things to see and do in this beautiful world. I am afraid that a few years down the line I will repent over so many things I wished to do but could not do. However, I have started serious planning for all this.
I don't think it is necessary to grow old to gain experience, wealth and power. Well, don't get me wrong, wealth and power are not the only things I am after but these are needed to do great things, at least they make things easier.

Hosting a public dedicated game server with user authentication @ollybee regarding the peering of traffic directly by the hosts, will they (hosting providers) tell me if they have done so, or ping+traceroute tests using winmtr etc. is the only way. I have used that tool and will use more to confirm, but just asking you. Thanks |

Hosting a public dedicated game server with user authentication thanks a lot for all your points, especially the jitter related one. I need 4 more reputation to upvote your answer. I have been doing multiple ping tests on some sample IPs and ping values to a nearby city are coming around ~65 to 150 ms, including some different ISPs. So, I guess I need to check some more hosting providers and do some more ping, jitter tests. By uplink of a server do you mean the upload speed? How much do you suggest for upload and download speeds? |

Hosting a public dedicated game server with user authentication @ollybee thanks again for the updates. I will make sure to take care of those points. Wow, Stackexchange has been so so useful in my all-round development. What would I be doing without it! I guess your network got a Grade A in the pingtest results. Can you confirm please? |

Hosting a public dedicated game server with user authentication @ollybee another thing. Most people advise not to host in India, just like @Arjun Bajaj in the other answer. What things would you advise to check with the hosting company before taking up. This will be my first hosting so I don't have enough experience. I am a software developer by profession and have worked on client's servers, but all were hosted in US/Europe. Also, those were all web applications related hostings. I guess gaming has its own requirements. I see that you work in a datacentre, so I expect some good suggestions from you. Thanks |

Hosting a public dedicated game server with user authentication @ollybee I really appreciate your help. The bounty is almost certainly yours :). Since you tried pinging to Indian IPs, please let me know what is the result of your network quality in pingtest.net I am doing these surveys to practically prove that physical distance can be a hindrance in gaming (especially the real time shooter games like Call of Duty). All this is part of my plan to setup a self-sustainable gaming network in my region. You may go through this question |

Hosting a public dedicated game server with user authentication @ollybee I think it will be difficult to find good providers with India based data centres. |
