I am a developer currently living in The Netherlands. I mainly focus on building web application, and I like to be a part of every stage in the development. You can say I work from 'grain to bread', from the basic starting point, the grain, to the final product.

In terms of development these are brainstorming about the project, choosing the appropriate architecture and framework, developing the application, working on the design and layout, and finally launching the application and on working on the optimization.

comment how can i create this kind of design
Ah that's another question. I would make my own button with the fold. Changing this one is possible, but it would look messy in the end. There are a lot of ready to go photoshop examples online for such graphics, premiumpixels.com is a good example. Finnaly you an do a google search on creating a fold in photoshop. Another example: wordpressthemeshock.com/folded-buttons

Ok, the image has to be split in two parts, the content, and the fold. Then you create a div with 2 spans inside, one for the content with the text, and one for the fold. Span 1 will have the fold as a background, display:block with the dimensions of the fold. Next to that you have the content with your text, with the button part as the background. I hope this makes sense.

I would say the easiest was would be to do this with an image. To be precise with a CSS sprite. I think you will also be able to pull this off using CSS3 and JS techniques, but it would be a lot more difficult. If you don't know how to create the sprite and position it using CSS I can help you with a small example.

comment How can I test my web site in IE6, IE7, IE8, and IE9?
@MarcoDemaio I would say give it a try. It could also be the way I develop my websites. Most of the problems come with absolute posisioned elements and z-indexes, overflows, that kind of stuff. If I use ie9 in ie7 mode everything looks great. Then when I power up my winxp VM's the problems start. It's a totally different world in there, up is down, left is right. Try it, and share what the results are. Maybe if you have really consistent skills it all looks the same. I can only speak for myself.

@MarcoDemaio I had been using this option for quite some time, and I have to say, the differences between this and using a VM are HUGE! I have no idea where this option is for but it does not emulate anything. There could still be small changes when using an vm, but I think you get 99.9% close. For proper crossbrowser webdevelopment you can not rely on these tools, you need a VM, or use online testers like browserlab. In all my project, using IE9 with compatibility mode was just useless.

Yes but I do not think it is a good practice to 'trick' google bot into indexing your page. It is not good SEO to have a special page only for google bot.

@jrosell I was thinking of this technique before, but I do not think it is will be great for important content. Maybe for a portfolio page, or a profile page you can get away with it, but I do not think it would be good for a business. I think it is a good practice to not have a webapp specially for SEO. If there were build in techniques is would be ok, but this looks like a hack for SEO.

Thank for pointing that out. I was thinking almost the same thing. While developing I see that I do miss a lot of options that come with a multi-page website. I thought maybe I could get away with it using some smart optimization, guess not. Have to rethink the whole project. Thanks for the help.
