You will very likely get an answer on wordpress.stackexchange.com.

comment Redirect URLs with a # in .htaccess
@w3d Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to make such requests, so I have to wait. The URL is that in my question. The 404 is served by WordPress. I want to avoid that and catch these requests before WordPress is loaded. A simple 400 with just one line of output should be enough.

\x23 doesn’t seem to work too. I will contact the hoster and report back when I get some results.

comment Redirect URLs with a # in .htaccess
@DisgruntledGoat My question is about requests that I logged on the server, not something my browser sends. I don’t even know how to reproduce these requests, because wget, curl and PHP strip everything from the # on.

I have read that as if [NE] is for the target URL only, not for the rewrite pattern. Will try it.

comment I don't want my site to be analyzed on WooRank or builtwith.com
It is faster to write these rules as: deny from 103.21.244.0/22 and deny from 5.39.0.0/17.

comment Should I include the current language code in <link rel=“alternate” hreflang=“” />?
Hmm, so Google uses rel-canonical and rel=alternate for the same purpose? Sounds like a serious bug to me. I hesitate to implement a workaround for this duplicated functionality in our plugin with more than 50k users.

comment Should I include the current language code in <link rel=“alternate” hreflang=“” />?
Is there any reason for that? rel=alternate is made for alternatives, and neither the blog post nor the webmaster article explains that.

comment How to appears in Google Blog Search
WordPress creates a robots.txt by default if pretty permalinks are enabled: a request to /robots.txt will get a response code 200.
