phpBB - display a public message when the whole board is private Actually, phpBB is already in a sub-folder, so landing people on another page with the message would work. However, the way my navigation is constructed, even people who are logged in would still have to click through this page. So I like your second idea better. I'll probably modify the login page and toggle the message based on user login status. |

Use Addon domain within login name for FTP account in cPanel That would be ideal if it worked. However, there is no FTP (Addon) associated with subdomains. I own "x" number of domain names and I am only allowed to have the same "x" number of "Addon" domains. In other words, cPanel does not allow you to create an "Addon" for a subdomain. Nor does it give you an FTP account specific to the subdomain. |

Use Addon domain within login name for FTP account in cPanel In other words, cPanel allows me to create email accounts using any Addon domain or subdomain. I'm just wondering if I can create FTP accounts in the same fashion... it's looks like I cannot. |

Use Addon domain within login name for FTP account in cPanel I've seen that. It's on the Addon screen as well. The problem is that myAddonDomain.net is already setup, being used for a site, and it has it's own FTP login which gets me to its document root. I need to be able to grant separate FTP access to just a subdirectory using the same domain name. I cannot give this person full FTP access to the whole site. cPanel will not allow creation of an Addon domain where one already exists. |

Use Addon domain within login name for FTP account in cPanel @paulmorriss, ftp.myAddonDomain.myDomain.com does not really solve anything for me. I'm trying to use one domain name in place of the other. Thanks anyway. |

Sudden connection problems with Akismet When a free API key is given a lower priority or throttled, which error message should appear? Since there is no error message contained in the module about key priority or throttling, it seems logical that a connection error message might appear instead. |

Sudden connection problems with Akismet Status was always showing as "up" during these problems. My reliable hosting provider was very diligent in assisting me troubleshoot this and was unable to find anything wrong. I'm using the free API key and this problem only happened on a day my key was getting slammed with spam; I just figured that free keys get a lower priority. Since installing a reCaptcha module, thereby reducing the number of API calls to Akismet, the error message has not returned. |
