Trade off: Lower the number of URLs in sitemap from 43k to 23k or update the sitemap.xml only weekly basis Under all circumstances, a solution could still be to split the site-scan into multiple smaller projects, updating e.g. one sitemap file every day. |

On the other hand, if it has to actually crawl all pages, it may purposely default to throttle down amount of pages/second downloaded/analyzed to prevent killing the webserver :) |

mod_rewrite problems - redirect subdomain to different domain I just always thought that .htaccess were handled like this: /.htaccess and then /otherdomain/.htaccess (i.e. so the one in root would always be processed first) |

mod_rewrite problems - redirect subdomain to different domain /slap self... My subfolder "otherdomain" contained a .htaccess file that overwrote the one in the root. (I have been trying to upload a complete website mirror "otherdomain.com" to another webhost, so all I would need would be switch DNS incase of webserver troubles at my current webhost.) |
