I'm a selftaught web developer, I'm graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures but life takes you along unpredicted roads...So now here I am, from the beginning of 2010 studying and researching a lot to get up with the pace of those who dind't make the mistake of choosing a wrong path. I'm learning a bit more day by day, trying to do my best, making errors and small victories.

Recommend an open source CMS for single page web site You don't need a CMS for just that, just a single html file would do (with content loaded in AJAX); someone will suggest wordpress, but beware! you'll have a ton of feature useless for you; a database (for dynamically add content) and a single php/html file imho are the best; pick a site layout you like from anywhere and take inspiration from it |

Amazon-like ecommerce site I just checked on their 'features' page and product reviews, product search, product adding (and I believe, account creation) is there. Download the free version and set up a local environment to test it out. Do the same witho other solutions like osCommerce or Zendcart or other solutions and see what suits best! |

Amazon-like ecommerce site Well, Magento already has those features as far as I remember, have you checked their specs? Don't know about the latest version, but what you need is pretty basic stuff for a full-rounded solution. |

Joomla Hide Menu Item, or: Using Rich Content as part of the navigation Are you using some ready-made extensions or is it a component you built? I worked on some sites with Virtuamart and Hikashop, and the trick of using a 'hidden' (I suppose you mean 'unpublished' module menu) works fine. Or maybe I just dind't get the question right? |

Temporary website redirect: 3xx or php/meta? Yeah, you have a good point there; but I thought that, given the little time I have to dedicate to the site, leaving it there, rarely updated, without new features and so on would have been "bad". I thought it would have been better to just redirect to the forum (where much of the people converge anyway). But mayb you're right, I should leave it there as is... |

Temporary website redirect: 3xx or php/meta? Never heard about 307, so do you think it's the optimal one for a 2-month span of time? |
