comment IIS sub-domain reverse proxy based on host name
Just to be completely unhelpful and whiny: a CNAME can't point to "my-server.cloudapp.azure.com:80", because CNAME's don't have port numbers. I think you meant a CNAME to "my-server.cloudapp.azure.com"

comment How to prevent anyone from knowing that some domains are in the same server?
@DisgruntledGoat It doesn't actually quite work that way. Reverse DNS uses the special in-addr.arpa domain (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.arpa) for reverse lookup, and it's theoretically possible to have forward and reverse DNS not match, and it's even possible to have the WHOIS record for a nameserver, the forward DNS for that nameserver and the reverse DNS for that nameserver all not match (though it's terrible practise).

comment Will altering my HOSTS file allow me to access sites that can't be directly accessed via IP?
On Linux, I'd suggest using dnsmasq for greater flexibility.

@DisgruntledGoat I don't think that's actually true, since you can reverse DNS non-nameservers too, but only nameserver IP addresses show up in WHOIS. However, it's almost not worth arguing over.

You don't even need to do that. When you "WHOIS" a nameserver, it includes an IP address (as it must; otherwise, it would be fairly useless). I agree there's no good solution here, but I think I technically answered the OP's question.

comment PHPBB Post Export Contains Unexpected Results
Do you have any sort of automated or manual spam filtering set up? If manual, do you recall seeing these messages as email asking you to flag them as spam? In the db records, do they have any sort of flag that's different from the legitimate messages?

comment Is there a way to link a domain to a subdomain without masking?
Could you set the DNS record to point to your old server and then tweak the configuration on your old server to accept example.com as a valid domain?

comment phpMyAdmin can't fint tmp directory
Obvious thoughts: can you create that directory? can you edit phpmyadmin's configuration to use a different temp directory (either from the phpmyadmin interface or by tweaking your config.inc.php file?).

comment Free Email Hosting for TK domain
If you point your MX record at a given host, that host has to be running SMTP to accept mail, not (just) an IMAP/POP server. You might be able to re-word this to ask the general question: how do I receive mail on an openshift server? Also feel free to contact me directly (my contact info is in my profile).

comment SEO impact of adverts on a .org domain
The whole ".org is really for non-profit organi[z]ations" has never really been true or enforced. In contract the policies for .edu, .gov, .mil, .state.xx.us (where xx is US state abbreviation) are fairly well enforced.

comment What should be included in email abuse policy?
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery: copy the mail abuse policy of an existing large mail domain and tweak as necessary.

comment Incorrect backlinks listed in Google Webmaster Tools (Search Console) from my other website
Since you control abc.com too, you can ask google to reindex it, which might fix the backlinks issue.

comment Is it possible to point my domain to a DDNS?
Keep in mind that not all nameservers respect TTL records. Some will cache your IP for 6-24 hours regardless of the TTL. So, even if you update your IP promptly on "your" nameserver, there's no guarantee "the Internet" will see it immediately.

comment Can I move a clients website from yahoo hosting to godaddy hosting without losing google page rankings?
I'm pretty sure google page rankings depend on the URL, not on the server where the URL is hosted, and I assume you'll be using the same URL?

comment Someone else set up a trial Google Apps account on my domain. How can I get Google to disable it?
There's nothing in any of the emails that says "if you didn't request this, click here?" Anyone can create an unverified Google Apps account for you... but Google won't make it "live" until you verify it (or, in this case, anti-verify it)
