Stack Overflow Valued Associate #00001
Wondering how our software development process works? Take a look!
Find me on twitter, or read my blog. Don't say I didn't warn you because I totally did.
However, I no longer work at Stack Exchange, Inc. I'll miss you all. Well, some of you, anyway. :)

How do you determine the monetary value of an established domain / website? @tim well, fair is whatever someone is willing to pay. If nobody is contacting you about the domain, then the value is effectively $0.. |

How can I see what my web site looks like in various browsers? I think it's OK for the topic to be duplicated here because it is of special interest to webmasters. |

How can I see what my web site looks like in various browsers? yes, they are friends of ours -- they also run doctype.com which is in the footer (though likely to get bumped soon) |

Should I include “www” in my canonical URLs? What are the pros and cons? yes this is the biggest downside of the "no-www" movement, by far. It is definitely annoying. |

Which special characters are safe to use in url? well, instead of "safe characters" I would say "extremely safe characters" -- the spec allows more, but I agree with you that it's better to be conservative here. |

Adsense - is it worth setting up? the comments on the blog entry are also highly recommended -- blog.stackoverflow.com/2009/11/… -- particularly "I’ve earned serious money with Adsense in the past (up to almost $10k a month in 2008) and also run developer sites. The answer is.. developers are not a good audience for Adsense!" |

If I don't want to set any special behavior, is it OK if I don't bother to have a robots.txt file? sitemaps are only helpful for certain types of websites though, IMO |
