comment Is the title attribute (not tag) important to SEO?
I just wanted to amplify your answer with regards to alt vs. title for images. Nice google blog post on this issue: googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/12/…

comment Porting a Flash site to non-Flash site
Yeah, we're in a tricky state with regards to Flash vs HTML5 vs (Silverlight maybe?) vs Native apps. It actually feels like the old browser wars a little. Interesting to see how it shakes out.

comment Porting a Flash site to non-Flash site
Very cool. I remember seeing the StrongBad email demo but I thought the version of swf supported was much older than Flash 8. Still not ready for use, but promising nonetheless!

comment Realtime HTTP notifications using Google Analytics when user views my page?
I expect people see source code and they get offended. Meh. It's about tools. Sometimes there's code involved for webmasters. I'm happy with the answer and don't mind downvotes.

comment Is it bad to develop against production data?
People vote on things for all kinds of different reasons. I don't take a vote as anything other than "this person got something out of this question."

comment How can I work out the reasons for someone else's site's search engine ranking?
I feel like I'm answering a "best practices" question, but you're commenting about a VERY specific instance with VERY specific frustrations about how your page is losing to this other site. I'm not sure what you expect here. Without knowing the url of your site, the competitor's site, and the search engine and search terms you're using, all I'm left with is answering with what I understand to be how to assess the search worthiness of a page/site.

comment If I have a page that gets a lot of StumbleUpon traffic, will that traffic fall if I move it?
It's funny, I never submitted that page in particular to StumbleUpon, it just seemed sucked into SU sometime maybe 7 years ago. Trying it with a lower trafficked page is a good idea.
