Personal site/blog, my desired .com/.net are taken Yeah, .org at least is a recognizable TLD to normal people, and for that reason it's probably the one I'm going to go with. It is a little odd to have a personal site whose domain makes it seem like I'm an organization, but just as ".com" frequently is used for non-commercial sites and people understand that, I could probably get away with .org |

Personal site/blog, my desired .com/.net are taken .name is definitely a possibility, but it seems a little self-referential ("<name>.name") |

Personal site/blog, my desired .com/.net are taken This is actually a really good point. I'm kind of hoping the existing owner of the domains lets them lapse (they're currently unused) but there's no guarantee of that. |

Personal site/blog, my desired .com/.net are taken True, and internet-savvy people usually don't have a problem with different TLDs anyhow. I fully agree that whatever I do end up picking I should just stick with it. |

Personal site/blog, my desired .com/.net are taken Yeah, this is a strong contender - also, I live in Maine (ME) so .me is a good fit there too. |

Personal site/blog, my desired .com/.net are taken Yeah, that's what I'm thinking w/r/t .com, that it's taken more seriously by average people. I've definitely considered something like kylecron.in, but .in is the TLD for India. There's nothing wrong with India, I'm just thinking it might be better to avoid associating myself with other countries. |

Any free/affordable alternatives to Polldaddy? Thanks for your answer, and sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. I had toyed with the idea of using Google docs, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to display the results of the poll after the user voted. Is there a way to do that? Also thanks for the tip about Zoho, I'm looking it it. |
