I do freelance web development to pay the bills. But my master plan is to open a nanobrewery.

Brewing has been the most enjoyable and fulfilling "hobby" I've undertaken. Hopefully I can make it a full-time gig.

Follow my nanobrewery adventure at Twin Trees Brewing.

comment If a page takes too long to load, after how long will a user give up and re-load or go elsewhere?
I think the wait time could vary depending on the goals of the user. If I'm simply looking for the cheapest priced item from a sea of google results I'd probably move on after a few seconds. If I'm waiting for a news article to load, I'd probably wait a bit longer.

comment HTML validation: is it worth it?
The disadvantage would be the additional development time you spend making sure that all your code meets the spec. Although this cost is generally minimal, it should still be addressed as a disadvantage.
