Need help with DNS. Registrar is NS, Web Site at WinHost, Email at eHost @Kevin: Thanks. Everything seems to be fine now. What I found strange was that two computers on my home LAN were differing. The PC was showing the site on the new servers and the Mac the old ones. Once I restarted the Mac though, it started showing the new servers (confirmed via pinging the site as well). It seems as though the DNS info is somehow being stored on the Mac itself. Anyway, all seems good. Thanks again for your help! |

Need help with DNS. Registrar is NS, Web Site at WinHost, Email at eHost OK, did the DNS switch last night and I'm experiencing some odd behavior. I change the DNS setting at 11pm and then starting pinging the domain every 15 minutes from my PC and my MAC. At 3AM I received a response from the new IP address on my PC but not on my MAC. Whatever, I went to bed. At 9AM this morning, I pinged the site again and both the MAC AND the PC are showing the old IP address. I'm not overly concerned but it is weird to me that I saw the change temporarily on one machine and not the other and then they both reverted. |

Need help with DNS. Registrar is NS, Web Site at WinHost, Email at eHost Thanks. The transfer of the site (including database migration) has been taken care of. The DNS changes are the bumpy part for me. I thought my plan of action was correct but best to get more eyes on it prior to pulling the trigger. I'll plan on keeping the Rackspace account for a few weeks after the switch prior to killing it. |
