Are Web Safe Colors Still Relevant? This was seriously born out of 8-bit displays? I don't think I've even used an 8-bit display since I've done web work, to the best of my knowledge anyway... edit I guess the math does add up, that 8-bit = 256 colors with some reserved = 216 "safe". Really? Yuck. |

Is it better to have an ErrorDocument 404 redirect back to the homepage or a standard 404 error page? I want to up vote this no less than 129082094 times. I cannot even fathom when a silent redirect to the homepage is a good idea. An error page will always suck, but knowing it was an error is better than a blind reset. (By which I mean, reset to the first page.) |
