comment Can I configure Apache's HTTP Authentication (.htpasswd) to require the name/password of a local user account?
Thanks Dan, that link to the security risks is extremely helpful. SSL and other items on the "Mitigating Risk" list would help, but I still may abandon this idea after reading that the mod(s) do not offer a method for slowing down password attempts (i.e. throw thousands of HTTP requests simultaneously to brute force).

comment Redirect search traffic to mobile page
How are you handling the redirect, and how are you determining what a "tablet" is defined by?

comment Google indexing titles of login only pages
The answer is probably a safe "no", but is there any way you can paste a link? The fact that wget returns the redirected page makes this a tough one. Was there possibly one point in time when Google was able to index these pages normally?

comment How can I force a VirtualHost in Apache to not listen for undefined subdomains on 443?
Unfortunately, since I already have www.example.com listening on port 443, it takes precedence and I receive this error when reloading the Apache configuration: VirtualHost overlap on port 443, the first has precedence

comment Gmail is marking my emails as SPAM. However, ISnotSPAM marks it as not-spam
Just curious, when you view the message in your spam folder Gmail often times says something at the top like "Marked spam because other users have done so" or "Marked spam because of the wording". Do you have anything like that for these messages? Also, I have used other sending services before but not SendGrid – what are the actual headers of the email that they send? Can you post them or some of them?

comment How can I force a VirtualHost in Apache to not listen for undefined subdomains on 443?
Interesting. I do not want https://foo.example.com to resolve to anything – users should get a 404. What Virtual Host should I remove in that case?

comment How to run/test JavaScript?
I don't think this is off topic. Yes, developers use good editors with syntax highlighting. Yes, we refresh a page when we need to test new/updated code. There is also the javascript console (e.g. press shift-ctrl-i in Chrome) which allows adding javascript to a page in real time.

That link is showing access denied. Also, can you clarify your question a bit? Wampserver suggests you already are on localhost. Are you asking how to install Apache, etc., on an Ubuntu server?
