comment FTP many images from one server to another server in fastest way
Are these servers local to each other? or connected via the net?

comment Are these hacking attempts or something less sinister?
no, in the end we blocked external RDP completely at the firewall.

comment What wireframing tools can produce something that looks like a finished website?
its far easier in illustrator to do a quick mock-up. if im doing a layout, the last thing i want is a rasterised image where i cant move parts about.

interesting question - do you have any clue HOW your server was compromised??

comment Use Outlook password for website verification
@JackLockyer - Are the users managed by Active Directory? I have just implemented a very similar solution, but cant help if AD is not being used. Do users access their outlook from home/remote or are they all within a corporate network?

comment If I override <STRONG> in CSS, does it retain any style elements?
no, this is a different situation, i am asking if there are any other properties that <STRONG> implies, other than making the text bold.

comment If I override <STRONG> in CSS, does it retain any style elements?
I dont agree with your first part - if i set font-weight to 800, for example, that overrides the standard font weight property implied by '<STRONG>'

comment What is the advantage of increasing “maximum worker processes” in IIS?
That makes sense yes - is there any way to force a process to reply only to its own sessions? Luckily the site I'm currently working on only currently gets around 1000 requests a day, so load isn't an issue.

comment Why is honest cloaking for Ajax considered bad practice?
I have always been of the opinion of "if it works, inst a bandwidth/browser hog, and isn't deceitful" then its ok. "Bad practice" is subjective as the web is still a very open platform, and even w3c very rarely state bluntly that something is bad practice. I sometimes ask myself if using a HTML table is bad practice as the CSS Nazis would have you think, but they work, perfectly well.

comment What type of spam is this?
As John Conde says below, one submit can spawn multiple email instances to be sent. I SERIOUSLY suggest securing it ASAP - one of my servers got a spam bit virus once, and my IP was blacklisted as a spamming address for over a year.

comment What type of spam is this?
Ok. I dont think its "Spam" at all, its (probably) a bot trying to hack sites, the fact you receive a blank email is just a consequence of the submit button being activated.

comment Do you still get a bounce in Google Analytics if all the linked pages/content is loaded dynamically?

yes... the calendar isn't something they have specifically said they need, so I'm just scoping out the possibilities right now.

comment Shared group calendar for ASP.NET
sadly its not "small", not huge but not small (11 sites, 1400 employees) - to make life harder for me they are using Active directory for logins etc, but do not keep user data in AD (phone numbers etc)

comment Shared group calendar for ASP.NET
Not necessarily - although building it into the intranet (which I'm currently building) would allow a greater deal of possible integration. I had not considered a hosted service like google calendars - however thanks for the suggestion - i'll have a look over it. No, the company's IT systems are a bit of a mish-mash from previous take-overs, however Exchange is on the to-do list, so would be the best option, once in place.

comment How to offer a cookie opt in/out to users?
@ionFish: That would be a good option, however that would have to be set in the user's browser settings, so would not work as a web based PER-SITE opt-in/out. w3d: Yes indeed - hence why I cant do it by IP. And yes thats the one, the EU is a pretty big place and also contains most of our customers, so is important.
