Really need a more specific error that GWT is giving you. Have you tried the "Fetch as Googlebot" feature for more insight?

comment Is there any reason for putting humans.txt except of acknowledgement?
Google seems to use humans.txt as a way to recruit, since all it does is point to their careers page. That's about as close to a "valid" reason as I can think of. Otherwise it's only point seems to be self-promotion of developers/designers.

comment Should I block agent Wget/1.12 (linux-gnu)?
@getbuck ya, that'll work too. Two different ways of achieving the same goal. Though if you're going to be blocking more than just this one bot, your way will be easier to maintain since you don't need to specify different version #s, etc.

@getbuck I've added code to block that user-agent string in .htaccess

@hildred you can also ignore robots.txt with the -e robots=off flag with wget. But again, thanks for "hating" my answer without providing any useful constructive criticism.

@hildred How is "mirroring" a site or "downloading" a web page not "scraping"? The intention of the question was not to determine weather it's a GNU/Linux tool, it's what it's purpose is. It's not a typical web browser, and nobody is trying to navigate to his site with wget to view it as a human. Have you ever used wget to browse the web? Didn't think so. And no, I can't "prove" that it's scraping the website, but like I said nobody uses wget to browse the web, so it's the most likely conclusion.

comment Google jQuery hosted library - is it any good?
Fair enough. But on fast connections, can it not result in a faster total load time, since more of the "pipe" can be used?

As Zistolen points out before, another benefit is that it will download in parallel to your websites other assets. You might want to add that also to this otherwise great answer.

There's code here stackoverflow.com/questions/7507277/… to detect weather the code is running in a Chrome extension. There are some good solutions there that might also be applicable to Firefox Add-Ons.

comment Could permanent redirect affect SEO?
What's odd is that Bing has many more pages indexed than Google does, for some reason. But they're also not indexing the /home/ directory as the "main" page. This is a very odd situation. In Google Webmaster Tools are there any entries under the Crawl Errors tab? Can you check the logs to make sure that Google is actually crawling the site from time to time still?

His redirect works. That's not the problem. The problem is the way that search engines are indexing the redirected homepage.
