comment What can I do in regards to the GPSI complaint on cache-control on dynamic images?
Is it practical for you to change the image URL when the image is updated? That way you can use long expiry times.

This is lossy compression, not lossless.

comment Apache returning incorrect bootstrap.min.css file
Try putting another file in the CSS folder and testing whether or not that works, that will help narrow down the problem.

comment When a mod_rewrite redirect is in place, do absent <img>s still cost more server time than present <img>s?
It's hard to talk SEO specifics without knowing what the content is. The images you're currently displaying are transparent PNGs, so they have no SEO value. It's the text that has value, and that can be there whether you're using an image tag or a div or span. Unless images are the primary 'content' on the page and you want them picked up on google images (e.g. a photo gallery), IMO there's no advantage of using img tags over CSS for the display.

comment Trailing slash on Root folder - Is it possible to remove it without 301?
I don't get any redirect from that URL, so perhaps there's something else going on. I'd suggest you see if you can get more info from the SEO tool about exactly what they think is happening.

comment Browser will not cancel the request if routed through PHP
'// discard $start_read_pos many bytes' is a bad idea, as PHP still has to read in the data. You should use fseek() instead. By I'd still go with X-Sendfile if you're able to get that working.

comment Can XML Sitemap include itself as one of the URLs?
I think 'sitemaps have no effect on search rankings' is a slightly clearer way of putting it, and I'd agree, but they're still worth having.

Are you serving the video file itself through PHP, or just the page that contains it?

comment google excluding site for queries for it's exact name
Whilst this is good general advice, I think there is a specific problem here. It's not that the OP's site isn't ranking highly for the brand name, it's that it doesn't rank at all, despite Google apparently having indexed multiple pages with that name on.
