comment How to tell how long google thinks it has been since your website was updated?
We haven't had really anything in the way of snow, but I get swamped in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. I still work IT though doing the Winter especially. I'm guessing your close to Altoona? Anyway, I think the g+ page is an anomaly, cause it's literally empty. plus.google.com/110132685538433697125/about?hl=en

I have a local 'service' brand, a reputation - professional service. So people do like to see the name on facebook, I like google+ for the business pages when doing a search - which I have mine completely setup. When I noticed a competitors google+ business page, which was empty besides google-collected info, on top of my main website - is what lead me to start searching for 'what is wrong' options, and finding the content freshness issue.

I know that can be taken as one persons view kind of, but I agree. If everything was perfect, I wouldn't buy. I thought of that, but wasn't sure. Like I said my page did drop, I found an empty google + page infront of mine, and the only thing that really stuck out was the content freshness. I appreciate your detailed answer, thank you.

comment Visitors are coming on the site but are not submitting questions for my Q&A site
Landing page optimization - once your users get on the site they feel confused. Once I am confused I leave and find something less confusing, they probably do the same.

comment Why do we have to pay for a domain name?
Why do you have to pay for water? Because someone owns the process of getting it to you.

comment .htaccess redirection for my domain?
I would go through the webmaster tools issues and make sure everything is corrected & then clean up old warnings. Wait a week or so and see if anything shows up. If it does keep fixing it and then do the 301. I have no idea on timescale for link removal, I think that is just entirely up to how often google crawls your site. Clean it all up and do the 301, then immediately try a fetch as google bot.

comment .htaccess redirection for my domain?
I would do a redirect but I wonder if they (google, bing?) would penalize the new site as well?..
