The usual obstacle is the ip connector, the cost is large enough to kill off most projects. But, if you already have the system and the licences in place and have trained staff available then extending Sharepoint might be the best option - I would examine Wordpress though, and keep a close eye on security.

If you're trying to run that many domains then you should be using a pay to play solution. GA was never designed for this kind of stuff. Just because it can doesn't mean you should.

@HeatherWalters I think it's unlikely, google do offer exams for Analytics, but they are pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things.
