comment Does crowded HTML markup between actual content affect SEO?
"Wikipedia's source [it] looks almost like only text" - Wikipedia's content is mostly text. (?)

comment Pointing a subdomain (subdomain.example.com) to a subfolder (example.com/subfolder)?
@PetaspeedBeaver "a solution that could be moved easily with a site" - The creation of the subdomain in the first place isn't necessarily something that can be "moved easily with a site". Incidentally, on hosts that use cPanel then this is the default behaviour when you create a subdomain.

How are you creating the subdomain? Are you using a hosting control panel of some kind eg. cPanel?

If this is not an obvious feature in GoDaddy's control panel then I would contact GoDaddy support.

Presumably you saw the literal text "/website/error?error=404"? Maybe it needs the slash prefix (/) to be present in the directive itself for it to be seen as a URL-path rather than a literal string (the "error message")? I've changed the code in my answer to reflect this. To confirm, you've found you don't need the expr=% prefix? Unfortunately I'm unable to test this myself at the current time. Whilst "Apache Expressions" are available from Apache 2.4+, being able to use them with the ErrorDocument directive is a more recent addition.

comment Permanent Redirect (WWW to non WWW)
"this will only redirect the homepage" - Actually, the RedirectPermanent directive will redirect everything to the corresponding URL at example.com (it's prefix matching and everything after the match is passed through). No need for mod_rewrite here.

comment Blank image. What to use: Base64 vs 1x1 JPEG image
Although an empty src attribute will still throw errors in the W3C Validator (which seems to be the concern).

comment Do we need RSS buttons?
"RSS buttons are the most compact way to notify users that your site has RSS" - RSS buttons are not the most compact way. The "most compact way" is to remove the RSS button and simply have the appropriate link element in the head section - which you should have anyway. In theory, this link element is all that's required and is what RSS readers will look for.

comment Blank image. What to use: Base64 vs 1x1 JPEG image
"When I am using a data base 64 blank image then it shows as many requests as the number of images on page." - there's something a bit wrong there? The whole point of using a data-URI is that there is no external HTTP request. (Only user-agents that don't understand data-URIs might fire an HTTP request.)

comment Why does Google Analytics end sessions at midnight?
I imagine it was voted down because "google made it this way" does not answer the question: Why did Google make it this way? If a user visits the site at 11:55pm and is active for just 10mins then GA appears to count 2 "sessions", when there is really only 1 user session that straddles midnight. Why is that? Is that really what happens? There might be a perfectly good reason for this, however, this would seem to (potentially) artificially inflate the number of real user sessions. (?)
