comment SSL issues on my website
You have to search on each of these websites for the correct URL. E.g here is the documentation for the Facebook Like Button: developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button As a side note: The tool you used to check the SSL connection gave you more warnings than it should. The problem you have here is actually not a problem. It is just something that could be done better.

comment When is it worthwhile to host your own website instead of using shared hosting?
I think the question is: What is the difference between shared hosting and dedicated server... From this point of view I don't think it is too broad.

comment Can a CMS be installed in a central location to be used by multiple sites?
This question is too broad. It totally depends on the file structure. For some it would work and for other's it wont. E.g. with Typo3 it would work. Furthermore you are not mentioning the operating system etc.

comment Mediawiki much slower in Firefox
The response headers do not help. It is important to see how many files are loaded at the same time and how much time is spent on each part of the request (DNS lookup, request, response, render, etc.) Furthermore it is important to see how many 304 requests you have on the second load. Only then you can start to compare the browsers and see where each browser is faster.

Can you please give us the output from Firebug? It would be interesting to see the "network" tab when you load the first page. Then we can see what is taking how much time.
