I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life. :-)

comment How do you backup your websites?
I would also suggest a VCS like Suberversion, Bazaar, Mercurial, Git, etc.

comment How can I get a history of DNS registration information?
Look in the SOA record for the RName: eg: hostmaster.genotec.ch -> hostmaster@genotec.ch

I would suggest you to use an (hm, lets say "more advanced") MTA. Sendmail is pretty good for "normal" Servers without special needs. But in your case (for bulk mails) i would switch to Postfix because there are many options for bulk mailing. It needs maybe a bit longer to configure it, but the effort is big.

1+ for a 301 redirect. +-1 for another domain which which serves static contents because every domain needs a DNS lookup. OK, in nowadays that isn't a great issue...and every popular site, like Facebook, MySpace, etc. do it... ;-)
