I love making things show up on computer screens. I've been developing websites since junior high and nabbed a full-time job out of college developing websites where you can buy belts and spare parts for exercise equipment. These days I deal mostly with PHP, MySQL, and Javascript, and I've also been learning more about SEO. I also like reading and writing about music, technology, economics, and more.

detecting when you are going to reach your hit limit for Google Analytics free account @bybe it depends on what is considered a "hit" - if it is multiple items (Pageviews, Events etc) it could be tedious to manually add the information together, and you still might not be sure you considered everything. |

How many pageviews can my server handle per day? Are you missing a decimal point? I don't care if you're doing shared, dedicated, co-locate, cloud, whatever: if someone's spending $1400/month for 150 page views a day, they're spending about 99% more than they need to. |

Side effects of using redirect pages to track external links? @evanrmurphy You are correct, I have adjusted my answer. I knew that was true for links from Domain A to Domain B redirected to a different page on Domain B. I guess somehow it didn't click that this would be also be true for links from Domain A to Domain A redirected to a page on Domain B. |

How to test the speed of a page that is guarded behind login page? As a general practice, backdoors are dangerous and I would not recommend them. In this example, if pingdom.com was compromised, someone could have access to the backdoor URLs to access potentially sensistive user information on your site. |
