I love making things show up on computer screens. I've been developing websites since junior high and nabbed a full-time job out of college developing websites where you can buy belts and spare parts for exercise equipment. These days I deal mostly with PHP, MySQL, and Javascript, and I've also been learning more about SEO. I also like reading and writing about music, technology, economics, and more.

"as soon as outside access is restored the site is crippled." - Crippled when accessed from outside, or inside goes from speedy to crippled as well?

comment How to make browsers offer to remember passwords
Talking from memory, but I believe I tend to see the popup in most browsers (ex. Chrome, Firefox) after loading a new page from a form post with an input of type password, but maybe not after an ajax login. It also does not show if you have (recently?) told it what you want to do on that site already, but clearing browser data may reset that.

comment Which order of the links is important? Visible, or in source code?
"Placement of links on the page is more important than order in source code" - SEOS have claimed to see evidence of links higher in source code getting more value, ex. moz.com/blog/… Of course, Google can probably analyze page placement exponentially better now than when that was written

comment Which order of the links is important? Visible, or in source code?
"will consider and evaluate both" - this may not be true at larger numbers of links, see concept of "crawl budget" ex. searchengineland.com/…

This answer is incorrect and may be referring to some other service. Google Analytics can and does show you specific hits from specific sites for specific days.

comment What are some potential issues in blocking all incoming requests from the Amazon cloud?
Those are some strong spikes. I would also examine logs (if possible) to see if those might be coming from a single ravenous source.

comment Why Wikipedia doesn't appear as a referral in Google Analytics' Traffic sources?
Also, did you access the site from Wikipedia's website or through something like a mobile app? Apps do not pass referer info and show up as direct traffic.

comment Why Wikipedia doesn't appear as a referral in Google Analytics' Traffic sources?
Do you have access to the direct server logs? This will tell you if wikipedia sent a referer URL or not.
