The client should be able to contact the hosting company and have their password reset, then they can give it to you. If you try and they do it, I would be very very concerned about security. Alternatively, log into the domain registrar and move the whole thing to a new hosting service. Sometimes it is better to start from scratch...do they trust the last ...
