Hey there, My idea was to make an e-commerce site alot like Amazon. Not exactly cloning it, but since its for a niche market, i need something like it. I was thinking of using Magento or something like that to use it as a base, but I cant figure out how to allow users to:

  • Sign Up for account, get verified by me.
  • Allowed to add items, so they can be searchable.
  • Product Reviews,

What can I use to achieve/make this, and what are some suggestions? I can code in PHP and python, thanks!

What about just selling your products through Amazon? Let them handle all the heavy lifting. –  jnpcl Feb 18 '11 at 21:45
Well, Magento already has those features as far as I remember, have you checked their specs? Don't know about the latest version, but what you need is pretty basic stuff for a full-rounded solution. –  Damien Pirsy Feb 18 '11 at 21:48
@profitphp that was random.. –  Soule Feb 18 '11 at 21:53
@soule i dunno if its as much random as it is perfectly relevant to the question at hand. Your question is extremely broad, and there are many steps between your question and a final product. This is why your question has no answers. –  profitphp Feb 18 '11 at 22:01
