Webmasters Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for pro webmasters. It's 100% free, no registration required.

We have a website where visitors buy access to online courses. We'd like to have reports about visitors across the website/all online courses as well as reports of visitors on specific courses.

The main website and the online courses all reside on the same domain with the courses being hosted in subfolders.

The number of online courses already is around 50 and will grow, so having a dedicated view per online course is a bad idea because of the limit on the number of views per account.

Would using page level custom variables identifying each page view to a course be enough to produce interesting reports? Is there a better strategy?
