I've recently noticed the ranking for a lot of my clients' websites product page drop and the homepage rank higher instead, despite no changes being made.

For example. Before Christmas, the product page for calls to romania was ranking in 50th position.

No changes were made to the site, but for an unknown reason this ranking page dropped off and the homepage is now ranking for the keyword calls to romania but this is on page 10 of Google.

Is this a change to the algorithm, is anybody else experiencing the homepage ranking higher than the product page? How can this be prevented?

Are you saying that the Romania page (the intended landing page for the search query) has completely dropped from the SERPs? – w3dk Jan 8 '14 at 12:17
As it stands, this is a little unclear and too broad to answer. Please add some details to help others understand and answer your question better. – dan Jan 9 '14 at 0:20
