Webmasters Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for pro webmasters. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Our enterprise application requires our users to specify their smtp server details to send out email notifications from the app.

The problem is that on average 80% of our user base wouldn't have a clue what their smtp details are and this creates a massive support bottle neck.

Fix = us hosting a global smtp providor that people can choose to use so the user can just click a checkbox to use our email service and they are done.

Question is, is this achievable? Any advice on doing this well? Are there any good smtp providers that would suit this setup that are reliable and relatively well priced for us?

Thanks in advance

isn't that what sendgrid.com provides, a global smtp that you may use. –  Prasad May 24 '13 at 6:59
