I run a large multiple author platform that rank very well on Google. Our content qualifies for the Google News publishing program. My concern is, if I will join this, will my current ranking for pages change? Will Google interpret my content differently?

For instance, let's say I have an article titled The avengers of today and it rank on first page for the search term the avengers. If I join Google News, will Google interpret that article as "old news" and thus remove it from the first page (unless of course if it was published on the day of the search and it will be visible at the top news area)?

Have you tried asking Google? They're usually happy answer questions about their policies. –  Svartepjotr Apr 20 '13 at 18:45
