Webmasters Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for pro webmasters. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I already have a registered domain with Go Daddy and wanted to use WordPress as my host. when I set up an account with WordPress they took my account and added the word "dot" in between my domain name and WordPress.com. Why would they do this and how will that impact the web address I need to give to my clients? This is probably a very elementary question, but I have searched forums all over WordPress and Google and can not seem to find a clear answer. Can anyone help me, Please!! :o)

Guys at WordPress Support Forum will be able to help you out with that better than we could. All we can do is to speculate on possible reasons behind it, what you need is clear answers and someone with ability to change your WordPress configuration. I've seen really similar questions to yours solved and closed there. Cheers! ;) – TildalWave Feb 26 at 1:23
