Webmasters Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for pro webmasters. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Let's say that my referral/associates tag on Amazon was xxx. If I were to link to a book I would setup a book link with the book's ISBN/ASIN etc. and then also add ?tag=xxx on the URL. This works.

Now let's say that I want to setup a generic link that goes to Amazon's home page. I have tried doing (http://) amazon.com/?tag=xxx but that doesn't work. (Link intentionally malformed so that it's not clickable).

How do I setup an associates link to the Amazon home page?

The ability to generate a link to any Amazon.com page is an advertised feature of the Site Stripe link building tool - if you have any issues using the tools Amazon provides for its referral program you may want to contact Amazon directly for support. – danlefree Feb 3 at 4:42
