Forgive me in advance if I posted this in the wrong area. I don't know where this should go, and unless I am completely missing what kind of system this is called, I can't find something quite like this.
I have a website that I'm looking to allow customers to view their content on - but instead of making a load of links, I want to try to make a system that'll deliver their content when they "log in" to the site. I don't want fancy mysql unless it's required - I don't yet know it. All I want is to have someone log in with a username and password (predetermined by me), and then get delivered a page with their relevant content. Even if it's stored in a big txt file like so:
[username1],[password1]:[ahref1 goes here];
[username2],[password2]:[ahref1 goes here];
To clarify, you arrive at a login screen - perhaps one of those boring old dialouges, or some fancy CSS-ified login screen. you type in a username and password. if it pairs up with a correct username or password listed, you're brought to a specific part of the site.
For another example: Customer A has logos A, B and C. Customer B has logos X and Y, with a website Z.
Customer A logs in, and is delivered to website.com/customera/index.php Customer B logs in at the same page, but is sent to website.com/customerb/index.php Instead of having to give them links every time, they just have to log in.
