I have a domain but no hosting. I'm looking for a free service that will allow me to put them in as the CNAME or A record and will perform a 301 or similar redirect to an arbitrary URL.

E.g. visitor types in thedomainiown.com in their browser and get redirected to http://someothersite.com/somepath

I tried adding a CNAME for my domain to a dyndns address with a WebHop to redirect, but the WebHop doesn't like that.
