One my Joomla site was attacked by Pharma hack which subsequently infected some other sites too in my shared hosting account. I observed it after 10-12 days of attack. Exactly on 10th day traffic of my 3-4 sites were brought down heavily by Google which was already showing "site compromised" in SERPs.
Well it has been 3 months and my both site's traffic isn't picking up ..
There was one notification in WMT about hacking for 1 site only, which I corrected immediately and submitted for review and it was cleared within a week. Subsequently I saw no errors or issues in WMT.
What this pharma hack did was that when Google visits the compromised site it'd see modified pages containing pharma links or even those who reach through Google Search. But directly visiting the site will show it's content normally.
Am I forgetting any steps to recover my site rankings in the Google?
