Webmasters Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for pro webmasters. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am developing a javascript library with various functions and am providing it in repositories, but I do not know how to provide the license.

Should I just put the file LICENSE in the same folder as the javascript JS file and comment on the type of license used?

* lib.js
* license

* License "license name used"

Honestly, I do not understand why my question was closed? This is not a discussion. It is clearly a question like: “I would like others to explain ______ to me” –  Guilherme Nascimento Nov 16 '12 at 20:09
