I know there are many advantages to using internet based market methods such as article writing SEO amongst many others. Are there any disadvantages when using these methods compared to real world marketing? Drawbacks as compared to the real world?

There is definitely the balance of committing resources to making your site useful for your human audience versus being optimised for search engines. Those are still not always the same thing. – Kenzo Nov 12 '12 at 7:46
