I have researched to the best of my ability and it seems that there is no way of getting Magento to send an email to the shop owner to let them know that someone has purchased an item which they now need to dispatch. I know there is a way to receive a copy of the order email which goes to the customer, but in the case of my client this is not what they want, as they want to have a simple email go to their dispatch centre when an order is ( not made but ) paid for.

I find this difficult to imagine with such a comprehensive system, especially seeing as the payments area of magento already seems to have this information, but what I am trying to establish here is confirmation ... my question is simply 'am I right'?

If so is there any recommendable plugin or available code which can achieve this. I did find a plugin but I am not convinced it will email the shop owner.

In case someone wonders the payment gateway (sagepay) does not send payment confirmed emails either, I am not 100% sure what the industry standard is ( ie whether the gateway or the cart would send such an email) but it's main competitor in Ireland (realex) doesn't do it either.
