I am looking to run a Reddit clone. I can't pay more than $14/month for hosting, and apparently Reddit requires sudo privileges. I know there's a way to configure with --prefix=$HOME but the daemon requires access to port 80. Is there a workaround for Webfaction?

Do you recommend any particular host or VPS?

yes, you get sudo privileges with any VPS. – Jonathan Ong Jan 26 at 4:19
